Best ever, May 6, 2010
After nothing but trouble with my last shredder jamming every 2 minutes(NOT a Bosch)I was dubious about buying a new shredder, but with a leylandii hedge to get rid of I took the chance.
Best thing I ever did, it coped with the hedge no bother and No jamming, I've put all sorts of shrub trimmings through it as well as the thick brussel sprout stalks all with no problem.
I didn't go over the recommended thickness and cut the roots of everything so no soil was put through to damage or dull the blade. I bought a spare blade in case the sharpness went but I haven't had to use it yet.
BOSCH AXT RAPID 2200 SHREDDER, May 6, 2010
Bought this shredder after reviews which recommended it. - no regrets, it is great.Made short work of my tough beech hedge prunings, and having a plastic casing it is not that noisy compared with my previous metal bodied ALKO. It is also surprisingly light. Power is adequate. I bought a spare blade after reading comments that the blade did not last long, but I have not even needed to change it over yet!
Two safety tips - Wear gloves as it can pull material through quite abruptly, and use the pusher tool when required; much of the success of this shredder is due to this device.
The only improvement I would make to this shredder would be to have a convenient hook to place the pusher while you are bending down to pick up prunings (with two hands). The machine is really so fast that you could use three hands!
Not a bad little machine, but BE AWARE!, May 5, 2010
I purchased this item for the sole purpose to shred garden waste, although it's a good little machine, but the downside of it is there's no collection box with it!
