Not Impressed, limited appeal, December 31, 2008
Elmo was a gift for our 3 year old for Christmas. He did not really want it out of the box until yesterday, now he is already bored of it. The only appeal of it is him knocking it over and my son refusing to pick Elmo up as he asked. The slapstick of him falling over is the only amusement factor. I know Elmo has several switches which make him say different things. His speech is unclear, the US accent is very strong and the voice is just grinding to say the least. For the money it costs I personally have a very very long list of better, more fun, more durable toys our family could play with.

I ordered this as a present for Christmas but had to try it out before wrapping it up! Fantastic toy and I can see why it's one of this years Xmas Top 10. I highly recommend this to anyone thinking of getting it. Buy now, you won't regret it!Kids (And adults) will love it!
elmo just wanted to say.... that elmo loves you...., December 22, 2008
He's definitely an excellent purchase for any elmo fan, but beware he doesnt like being manhandled! My mum bought me an elmo live when I was stuck in bed with the flu to cheer me up. He certainly did that! He's definitely not just fun for kids and has given my friends and I *(who are all in our mid twenties) lots of amusement (and no matter how bad the rest of the world is you know that elmo will always tell you that he loves you. :-) )I only wish that he was a bit cuddlier. I'm almost afraid to handle him too much as under a thin layer of fur he feels very mechanical and his arms in particular seem to be very flimsy. I'd bear this in mind if you are thinking about buying elmo for a younger child as you cant help feeling that he couldnt surviving being manhandled very much. In fact I had a few problems with the first elmo I was bought as he quickly developed a fault in his leg which meant that he ended up bending down and talking to the floor all the time, no problems as yet with the replacement.
