Good Camera, May 7, 2010
The camera is OK but I'm not too thrilled with the iA Auto scene selector. Most of my pictures are underexposed and look very dark. I almost always have to move the Atomatic setting and UP the White Balance to +1 or more. Never tauched exposure settings with my old Nikon Coolpix 4800ED.
I wonder if anyone has such a problem.
In bright sunlight, the photos are more acceptable.
Delighted, May 6, 2010
Just back from a two week holiday with my new TZ7. Took a crazy number of photos which is a measure of how pleased I am with it. I chose the TZ7 over the new TZ10 on price, but also because I doubt that I would ever use the extra features on the TZ10 (GPS - drains the battery, manual controls - by the time I've worked them out the shot has gone)
Really like:
- image quality
- usability of controls, for example very simple way of quickly overriding automatic exposure setting
- zoom during video
- ultra-wide angle
- long zoom great for getting close-up wild-life shots
- good low light performance for a compact - high sensitivity mode produced decent shots without flash in poorly lit indoor situations
- battery life
Less sure about:
- some difficulties with autofocus in macro mode
Crap software and video you cant play, May 3, 2010
The software supplied with this camera does not work, also the HD video cannot be played on normal installed PC players. Poor show Panasonic.
Panasonic Lumix TZ7, May 2, 2010
Camera has a useful zoom range as well as an excellent HD video mode. Panasonic Lumix TZ7 Digital Camera - Black (10.1MP, 12x Optical Zoom) 3.0 inch LCD
